The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has extended the M2M registration deadline to March 31, 2025, allowing unregistered entities providing M2M services or WLAN/WPAN connectivity additional time to complete their registration and avoid service disruptions.
This extension is crucial for product manufacturers and businesses managing IoT-enabled devices, such as smart meters, connected vehicles, industrial automation, healthcare devices, and smart city applications.
Devices using M2M SIMs or cellular connectivity for backend cloud communication must comply with DoT’s M2M registration guidelines to ensure uninterrupted services. Unregistered entities using M2M SIMs will face service suspension after the deadline, with services resuming only upon submission of the M2M registration certificate to telecom licensees.
To avoid disruptions, businesses are strongly encouraged to complete their M2M registration on the Saral Sanchar Portal as soon as possible.
