The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued a direction dated 7th April 2025, introducing a Standard Operating Procedure (SoP) for restoring disconnected telecom resources due to alleged Unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC), under Regulation 29 of the TCCCPR, 2018. 

The Department of Telecommunications ( DOT ) is fast-tracking the implementation of Calling Name Presentation (CNAP), a feature that will display the caller’s name on the recipient’s screen, even if the number is not saved. 

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has responded to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) regarding its feedback on the service authorisation framework under the Telecommunications Act, 2023.
